Frequently Asked Questions

Sign up for Noelle’s Newsletter here!

You’ll get notifications for books opening, guest spots, early preview of flash, and more!

Our books for July and August on June 1st at midnight! The inbox will remain open to your submissions for about 48 hours. To submit a request for an appointment, you can fill out the booking form here. Please note that the booking form is only active when books are open, and the only way to secure an appointment is to submit a booking form. We do not book through email or Instagram DM. If you contact us about booking an appointment while our books are closed, you will not receive a response.

Don’t stress about emailing your submission at the stroke of midnight. Designs are chosen based on idea, not whomever submitted first. We aim to accommodate as many people as we can and will contact everyone who submits a form.

Noelle works primarily on her flash and a few custom ideas featuring flora, fauna, bone, nature, Victorian, insect, and art nouveau imagery.

Pricing

Tattoos are priced based on size, placement and complexity of the design, and our minimum is $300. After we read your submissions and gather all of the information about your design, we can provide you with a price estimate.

In the case of multi session pieces (ie, sleeves, half sleeves, back pieces, etc) we charge by the hourly rate ($250/ hour) until the piece is completed.

We are happy to offer need-based sliding scale pricing to our BIPOC and trans/non-binary clients! Please mention in the design description field of our booking form if you are interested in sliding scale pricing.

Rescheduling/Cancellations

If you need to reschedule, let us know one week (7 days) before your appointment, your deposit can be transferred one time.

If you reschedule with a full week’s notice or more, you must set up your new appointment at that time. If you do not line up a new replacement appointment when you email us to reschedule, your deposit will be forfeit and your flash/ custom design will be put back up for grabs.

If you let us know of your need to reschedule any later than a week, you will need to put down a new deposit, as it is very hard to fill last minute spots.

Size/ Placement/ Design Changes

Size and placement changes can be made the day of, although this may affect the price estimate depending on the scale of the change.

We always take time at the beginning of the appointment to review the design together and make any small changes if need be. But, we ask that you let us know at least a week beforehand if any major changes need be done to the design. If major reworks need to be done at the appointment, there may be a $50 redrawing fee added to the final price.

Deposits

A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required to secure your appointment. This deposit will be deducted from the final price of the tattoo.

Accepted Forms of Payment

Cash payment is strongly preferred, but Venmo and Zelle are also options.

Appointment Preparation

Make sure you eat well and stay very hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment. You’ll feel more comfortable, and your skin will react better to the tattooing process if it’s hydrated! Also, it’s great to wear dark clothing, or something you wouldn't mind potentially getting ink on (sorry in advance!) that will allow access to the area we will be tattooing.

Aftercare

We will go over these instructions together in person as well, so no need to memorize!

Take the saniderm bandage off in the shower (under the running water) after 3 days, wash your tattoo with antibacterial soap (Dial Gold is great) and lightly moisturize with an unscented lotion (Aveeno/Lubriderm). After a few days, the tattoo will start to scab, peel, and become itchy. This is totally normal. Don't scratch it, though! Continue to wash daily and moisturize 2-3 times a day. Also, no submerging the area in water (pools, spas, steaming, swimming, baths) for 2 weeks. Try to avoid working out and sweating heavily. Most tattoos heal within 2-4 weeks.

Flash

I will repeat most small and medium sized flash 2 or 3 times unless otherwise stated, or until I retire the designs. If you have strong feelings about the flash you picked potentially being repeated on someone else later, please indicate that on your booking form.

Bringing Guests

For the time being, we are not able to accommodate guests. There are beautiful plant shops, wine bars with outside seating, ceramic stores, and apothecaries on the street level of our building that your friends or loved ones can peruse during your appointment! You can find a list of some of our favorite Greenpoint haunts here.

Please email us if you have any questions, any information we should know, or if you need any accommodations.
